How this bracket works

  • Winners bracket: 11 games — Same seeding as single elimination — but one loss here drops you into the losers bracket, not out.
  • Losers bracket: 10 games — The second chance. Lose here and you're eliminated; winners keep feeding back toward the final.
  • Grand final + reset — The winners' bracket champion meets the losers' bracket champion. If the losers' bracket champion wins, they play one reset game for the title.
  • 4 byes — The winners bracket is padded to 16 slots; 4 top seeds skip round 1.

Rules cheat sheet

  • Two losses to be eliminated: the first drops you to the losers bracket, the second ends your run.
  • Grand final reset: if the losers' bracket champion wins the final, they play one more game for the title.
  • Fill it online (click teams) or print the blank sheet and fill by hand.

FAQ

How many games are in a 12-team double elimination bracket?

Between 22 and 23 games: 11 in the winners bracket, 10 in the losers bracket, plus the grand final (and a reset if the losers' bracket champion wins it).

How many byes does a 12-team bracket have?

4 byes. The bracket is padded to 16 slots, so 4 top-seeded teams skip round 1 and 4 games are played in the opening round.

How are teams seeded and paired?

Standard seeding: the 16-slot bracket is filled so the strongest seeds meet the weakest — 8 vs 9, 5 vs 12, 7 vs 10, 6 vs 11. Seed 1 and seed 16 sit at opposite ends.

Can I print this bracket?

Yes — use the Print button. The print output is a clean black-and-white line drawing that fits Letter or A4 paper in landscape. No sign-up, no watermarks.
